Alex hired at UMass Boston's Collins Center for Public Management

The Edward J. Collins, Jr. Center for Public Management is dedicated to improving efficiency, effectiveness, governance, and accountability at all levels of government in MA, with a particular focus on state and local government. The Center’s aim is to enable public entities to provide high quality services to the people they serve on a sustainable basis.

Alex was hired as a part-time consultant, to join a strong team of retired Town/City Managers, police/fire chiefs, and other local government professionals who help Collins delivery great quality work to towns in MA they serve. 

Alex’s practice areas including shared services and regionalization; community/economic development, human resources, recruitment and retention; financial planning and budgeting; and public and community engagement. Alex joined the Center in October 2024. 

Since the Center was founded, it has provided support to:

  • over 280 cities and towns;
  • 30 school districts;
  • 35 regional agencies, quasi-governmental agencies, or county governments; and,
  • 24 state agencies.
